The Shun Kazahana 3.5-inch Paring Knife is an essential tool in any kitchen. This mini-version of the Chef's knife is very versatile - lending itself to tasks such as peeling, coring, trimming, decorating and detail work. The small size of this paring knife allows you to have complete control over the blade from heel to tip. The 3.5-inch parer is often used in-hand rather than against a cutting board.
The full-tang blade of this Shun Kazahana knife is made of AUS10A, a high-carbon stainless steel with exceptional strength, corrosion resistance and hardness. The vanadium in the blade allows it to be sharpened to an extremely sharp 16 degree angle that will slice through any food with ease.
In Japanese, Kazahana means "snow that flickers like petals dancing in the sky." These beautiful knives have the name of Kazahana, as the finish on the blades mimics this beautiful sight. In addition to having an elegant look, the blade's beautiful satin finish serves the purpose of helping to release food from the blade.
Each contoured, symmetrical Shun Kazahana knife handle is made of polished black Pakkawood, which provides a secure, comfortable grip.
