The medium-soft wood "gives" as you cut, helping preserve the delicate edges of your fine Shun cutlery. The light-colored wood features a rich, straight grain and a pleasant, fresh scent. The cutting board provides a comfortable 15.75" x 10.75" surface. The wood for this product is grown in Japan and is Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) Certified for sustainable forest management practices.

These three items are noted for being exactly as advertised on the website. They are definitely worth the money spent. The Nakiri knife is a pleasure to use and is very sharp. You have to be very careful when using it.
