The Buck 108 Compadre Froe Knife was designed for splitting wood, as well as clearing, heavy chopping and batoning, as well as detail work.
The blade of the 108 Compadre Froe is 5160 Carbon Spring Steel, which runs the entire length of the blade and handle, ensuring the knife is exceptionally strong. Cerakote Cobalt coating not only gives the unique blade of the Froe a stunning black finish, but also provides added durability and rust resistance, even in wet conditions.
This is a full tang knife, which means that the unsharpened section of the blade extends the full length of the handle. This eliminates natural weaknesses that can result from the joining of blade to handle.
The handle of this camp knife is natural canvas Micarta, known for strength and nearly impervious to inclement conditions, oils and solvents. It also provides a good grip when your hands get wet.
Buck's exclusive Paul Bos heat-treating and testing process maximizes both edge retention and performance. The blade is hardened to a Rockwell Hardness of RC57-58 through a rigorous heating, freezing and reheating process.
The Compadre Froe 108 comes with a genuine black leather belt sheath that is also made in the USA. It features a d-ring attachement.
Engraving: Up to 12 characters can be engraved on the side of the blade with the BUCK branding on the Buck 108 Compadre Froe Knife.
